We’ll keep this one simple so you understand where I’m coming from when it comes to family.
My life situation is as follows: I’ve been happily married for 20 years (yes…it’s actually possible), we have raised two children (our daughter just started college and our son just started high school), we have 2 dogs as you have seen (my 4 year old Goldendoodle and our 4 month old Portuguese Water Dog). My parents are alive and well and have been married over 50 years. I have one older brother, dozens of cousins, and a group of friends who I consider family as well despite the fact the same DNA does not exist in us.
Family is truly what you make it, traditional , non-traditional, or whatever.
The key in my opinion is to surround yourself with good people, love them, and treat them as your own.
Here is a picture from a vacation that celebrated my parents 50th anniversary. This was a few years ago now but I love this picture and I loved that trip!! That’s me kneeling in front with the sunglasses on my head.
