The laws I’m talking about today are the shipping laws that are seemingly random here in the US. As more breweries and distilleries are popping up all the time, it’s nice to be able to get your hands on some of the better stuff you may have experienced during travel. I’ve talked often about the great craft beer in New England and how the majority of those don’t ship at all. However, some breweries, such as Trillium, are both distributing and shipping. Funny enough, you can occasionally find their beer in a NJ beer store but they cannot ship to the state of NJ.
Today my booze thoughts travel back to the state of Montana where we were a few years ago with the whole family for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. It was obviously a wonderful trip from all aspects, but today I’m talking about Huckleberry Whiskey. As we stayed in some beautiful cabins near the entrance of Glacier National Park, not far off was the town of Coram, MT…home of Glacier Distilling Company.
Myself, my brother, father, and uncle all stopped in for some tasting that first day and brought a few bottles back to the cabins. I mean a cold beer and a little whiskey in the evening after hiking during the day sounds quintessential Montana to me!
All of their stuff was very good but the one that stood out was their Bearproof Huckleberry Whiskey.

I’m happy to say that Montana apparently changed their shipping laws and I was able to order some bottles….that arrived in under 2 days! If you want a very unique tasting whiskey (think alcoholic Gatorade in a way) then you will certainly enjoy this one. I can’t wait for the temps to get cooler at night here and enjoy a glass on the back deck by the firepit. Cheers!
