For those of you that don’t know (and you would have to be living in a cave) the Philadelphia Eagles won the Super Bowl last night 40-22 over the two time defending champions Kansas City Chiefs.
Now I’m definitely in the minority living near Philadelphia and not being an Eagles fan. I’m more of a college football fan than I am pro fan to be honest. And like the majority of people, I was just hoping for a good game to watch. We were all disappointed. If you weren’t cheering for the Eagles, that game was about as unwatchable as the halftime show. WTF was that?
The bigger issue I have, and it’s not solely limited to Philadelphia sports fans, is that in this area we all knew…win OR lose…that there would be chaos, violence, and destruction in parts of the city. What is it about your sports team playing in a big game that makes people want to damage the city that you come from and cheer for?? I don’t get it. They win the NFC championship game, kid climbs street pole, falls and dies. Team wins Super Bowl…repeat. And you can see the pictures and videos from last night…these are not young children…these are “adults” constantly making bad decisions.
If you are the “die hard” fan who screams and yells at his TV during games and is constantly angry when your team underperforms or ends up tearing down poles or jumping on cars after a Super Bowl win…please remember your kid doesn’t just see this….they will repeat it one day. So dude…chill out. It’s just a game.
