As I mentioned before my holiday break, Mary and Emily went down to the Florida Keys for the week for a nice mother/daughter trip. I’ll post some pictures of their trip tomorrow for everyone. During that week, I was able to remodel the master bathroom, which was long overdue. Surprisingly, it didn’t take nearly as long as I thought. Here is a rough timeline:
A week or so before, I ordered the vanity through Wayfair knowing it may take a little time. Everything else (faucets, lightening, flooring, decor, etc) was easily ordered online through Amazon or picked up at Home Depot or Lowes.
Here was the starting point:

A few days before they left, I tore everything out of there!

The painters were supposed to come on that Sunday but we had a snow storm Saturday night. So I had to flip my schedule a bit.
Sunday morning: laid the flooring and did the grout work
Monday: the girls left early for Florida, painters arrived at 8:30AM and worked straight through until 4:30PM. (Those vaulted ceilings are tough and take time…and I refuse to paint. I don’t really enjoy it and my shoulders hurt too badly)
Tuesday morning: rewired the electric (GFCI outlets, dimmer switch, new vanity lighting)
Tuesday: Mikey and my good friend Muck helped get that insanely heavy vanity up the stairs (marble top already attached so we’re talking @300lbs). Then I attached all the faucets and plumbing, backsplash. It was a long, 12 hour work day for me that day.
Wednesday: Hung the mirrors, shelving, cut and installed baseboard molding and quarter round. Caulked everything that I could. (Also shopped for decor)
Thursday: All the finishing touches and decorating completed in the morning. Girls returned late Thursday night.
I also was getting Mikey to and from school, hockey practices in evening, and making sure Deke and Delaney each got their daily 2 1/2 mile walks. Needless to say, I was quite exhausted by week’s end.
But Mary was happy with the final result and here it is:

Ignore half of Delaney in the picture and my ass in the mirror reflection!

You can see Deke keeping an eye on the neighborhood out the window if you look closely.
