Random Friday topic today is credit cards. Here’s two simple things: don’t hold a balance because the interest will destroy you and your credit rating. Second, get yourself a card (or maybe two at most…no need for 3) and find rewards that give you what you want.
I have only held two cards my entire adult life. The one has never changed…my Marriott Rewards card. Years ago I traveled more for work and utilized that card for everything. I built up a massive amount of points and have given us and family members some great free nights and full vacations over the years. I find they come in very handy now for all of Mikey’s baseball and hockey travel tournaments so I’m not adding additional costs to those already expensive seasons.
For the past 10 years I’ve also held an American Airlines Reward credit card. Philadelphia is our closest International Airport and it an AA hub so it just made sense for me. Started with some serious bonus points while I was on a flight. I utilize that card only (Mary uses the Marriott card) and have built up enough for several free domestic flights over the past decade.
Maybe you prefer shopping or want cash back instead. Whatever you want, do your research and get something for it. Check the yearly fees though!
Have a great weekend everyone!
