For anyone that has been to the doctor’s office or even the hospital…we all know having good insurance is HUGE. My recent company (which will remain unnamed) has the worse insurance plan I’ve ever had in all my professional years of working. It’s a joke. They cover nothing and the copays are ridiculous. Understanding the policy is like trying to figure out astrophysics. Have to find someone “in network”. Can’t get anyone on the phone that’s competent to answer a question. This is the US Healthcare system.
Now….let’s take a step back and look at Dog Insurance again. Deke has been dealing with allergies and an ear infection that seems to be going back and forth from left ear to right. Today was his second follow up visit for allergy shots and more ear medication. He went to the vet, got treated, was given medicine to bring home, and they even printed a nice itemized receipt for us.
My wife handed me the receipt. I went on my phone to Lemonade (my dog insurance for Deke and Delaney). I submitted the claim and the itemized receipt online without having to deal with anyone on the phone. I hit “submit”….and in literally 2 SECONDS….my claim was approved and they they are wiring me 90% of the claim (I have a 90/10 plan for the dogs). To be transparent, I had already hit the deductible for Deke after we were attacked by the Pitbull last month.
So easy and simple. So this is not only another reminder to get Pet Insurance to take care of your fur babies…..but maybe asking if anyone knows how I can get covered myself under Pet Insurance since their system is way smoother than human healthcare!
Here’s Deke and Delaney resting on the couch together.
