Can we make time stand still?

As we sat last night at Mikey’s high school baseball banquet, I can’t believe how fast things are moving. It’s not just the fact that he is finishing up his sophomore year, but as I looked around the room, I saw dozens of other kids that I had coached somewhere along the way here in town. And the funny thing is….I wouldn’t have recognized almost half of them. These boys I coached years ago are now young men. They look more mature and most of them are taller than me now (which really isn’t saying much actually).

Two years away from being “empty nesters”. In the grand scheme of things, we get our 18 years or so with our kids and then they are hopefully out and about and doing their own adult things at college or in the workforce. We all know this but it still seems to go very quickly.

So the answer to my own question is NO….we cannot make time stand still. But take in the moments now before they are gone and you are on to the next chapter of life.
