Bye, bye, bombers….

I’m back on track with Booze Tuesday. Today’s topic is the 22oz bomber bottles that used to be very prevalent.

Quite some time ago, my brother and I started a tradition that on each other’s birthday we would buy each other 6 unique, hard to find, never heard of, bomber bottles of beer. It was probably as fun shopping for them as it was receiving them. Fast forward to the present….2025. My brother came by this past weekend to share a beer and bring my “beer present” to me for my birthday which had just past. He made the decision this year that it was time to go to a variety of cans, and for good reason. Bomber bottles are just harder and harder to find.

Sure, I can grab some bottles from Kane Brewing or Troegs when I’m working out in those directions, but beer stores used to have an aisle dedicated to the 22oz bombers. The selection was wide and the breweries were often unique. This is no longer the case.

Cans have taken over for a variety of reasons and I understand….. but I still miss the good ol’ 22oz-ers! As long as I can still find them here and there to put on the shelf and age to open on special occasions, I guess I’ll survive.

Here are a couple articles for your enjoyment.
