I miss the beach. I have been on a few beaches the last couple years but unfortunately, I haven’t had a beach day down the Jersey Shore in a long while. I definitely miss those days when the family and the kids (my own and my niece and nephew) would spend the entire day on the beach in Stone Harbor, NJ. We then would all do the best job we could by the cars in the parking lot to get the sand off us so we could quick change and do a big family dinner.
The kids are all growing up fast and doing their own things during the summer. We have the dogs here now and can’t just leave them all day. It makes it difficult to repeat those days….and honestly those days could never be repeated anyway. Something about young kids being carefree on the beach and having fun until they pass out asleep in the back seat of the car on the way home with the car filled with sand and the smell of suntan lotion lingering. Those smiles are something you can’t fake.
So if you get the opportunity, go sit on a beach and relax…..you deserve it!
