No…today I will not be discussing algebra or trigonometry. The Higher Math I’m referring to is a beer that was released 10 years ago by Dogfish Head Brewing.

I’ve had a lot of unique beers over the years and this one is definitely up there. Coming in at 17%…it’s a bottle you want to share for sure.
10 years ago when this beer was released, a good friend of mine gave me two bottles. We opened one that day and shared it. We both agreed….it was a bit much and definitely needed some time on the shelf to mellow out. So I put the other one on the bottom shelf and basically forgot about it until I was moving bottles around on the aging shelf last week. I looked it up online and realized it’s been sitting there for a decade.
So I think this little guy is ready to go this year. I’m going to wait until fall or possibly early winter when the temps have dropped and this one will be a good warming beer to share with friends.
If you are wondering if this is the oldest beer I have on my shelf….the answer is NO. I’ll share that one another time.
Any of you have any beer or wine or liquor that’s been sitting around aging for a decade or more??
