The unofficial rules of Stock Market trading

Here we are almost 11 weeks into the year and the Stock Market is well….not doing great. But it’s not terrible either. So far in 2025 the market is showing some dips overall and trust me I know because most of my investments are doing pretty poorly at the moment. But 2025, as I mentioned, it barely 11 weeks old. Show some patience and if you have any spare cash, now is the time to invest on the dip. I don’t have 290 billion in the portfolio like Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway, but I do like to listen to people like him who clearly know what they’re doing. He’s stock piling cash but also reinvesting. Here’s a quick mention from The Motley Fool:

Is Buffett bearish on the market?

Investors may be concerned that Buffett is doing a lot more selling than buying of late, and that Berkshire’s cash balance continues to rise. It reached a record $334.2 billion as of the end of 2024, which is up from $325.2 billion a quarter earlier.

Buffett may be shifting positions around but Berkshire’s portfolio is still worth around $290 billion. While the current economic conditions may be unsettling and worrisome for investors, Buffett has remained invested amid even greater uncertainty in the past, staying the course for decades. Although he may make adjustments to Berkshire’s holdings, it’s by no means a sign that he’s worried about a market crash being around the corner.

He’s still invested in the market, and that has proven to be an excellent move over the long haul. Investors may want to also consider changing up the stocks they hold, but it’s generally a good move to remain invested in the market rather than being out of it and trying to time it.

I certainly believe this guy knows what he’s doing. So once again, spare cash is the key, in my opinion. Not investing money you need to buy a car this year or pay for your daughter’s wedding next spring….I’m talking about money you won’t miss either way and can show the patience to let it grow over the next decade or more.

Do you due diligence and make informed choices. But if you aren’t taking advantage of the dip, you will find yourself saying, “IF ONLY I HAD…….”
