So a hockey buddy of mine just had their first child and we were chatting all about his son in the locker room the other night. Proud daddy as he should be! I love hearing about my friend’s kids and how their doing and what they’re up to as they grow. Now for those of us with older children or ones that are already off to college or moved out, we can attest to the fact those first 18 years move fast!
Question I get asked: What stage is the best? Answer: all of them. Enjoy every single moment and stage from birth to the present. Don’t dwell on the past…things change.
Also asked: was it tough when your daughter moved away to college? Answer: NO. Would have been tough if she stayed home and lived in the basement and had no direction in life.
Our job as parents is to provide them direction, instill values, inspire them, love them, and set them free. They’ll thank you for it someday and may even put you in a good nursing home when the time comes!!
So I can’t post every stage of life for the kids, but here are the current bookends….the start of their life and where they are today. But I certainly have loved and cherished every moment in between.
