I was curious once again as I sit at my desk on a Friday morning about what is trending on Google today. Top search so far is: Nome, Alaska Airplane Missing.
OK..so I know bad things are said to come in 3s. Well this would be number 3 for sure with regards to plane accidents/mishaps. The first being the plane collision in Washington, DC between the jet and the military helicopter. The second being the medical transport jet that crashed in Northeast Philadelphia less than 30 miles from my house. Some serious “WTF?” going on with the airline industry right now.
So I have to get on a plane at the end of the month for a business trip. Am I concerned? NO.
Let’s be reasonable for a moment because I’m not a conspiracy theorist and I know that airline travel is still incredibly safe. There are varying numbers when I do a search but we can estimate at any given time there can be upwards of over 8000 planes in the sky and over 45K flights in a day. Bottom line: statistically still safer to fly than to get in a car (especially in NJ!)
Careful on the roads out there this weekend.
