Since it’s travel Thursday post day, this is the perfect follow up from my first travel post. Next week is election day and then the NJ teacher’s convention is on Thursday and Friday. Our school district decided to turn the entire week into a “Fall Break” because as I mentioned before, nobody is in school as the droves of people migrate to Orlando to pay homage to the mouse.
So I guess it’s time for a trip. Want to guess where we’re going? If you guessed Disney, you didn’t read my first travel post. My son and I are going the opposite direction and heading back to Chicago for a few days.
We love Chicago. I think it’s one of the best cities in the US to visit. You don’t need a car, the train and bus system is excellent, and there are so many things to do and places to see. We’ve done most of the tourist things over the years there so this visit will evolve around going to see the Chicago Blackhawks game and eating lots of deep dish pizza.
In terms of pizza, these are my favorites: https://www.loumalnatis.com/ and https://giordanos.com/
Don’t get me wrong, there is Gino’s East and Pequod’s among others but when you’re staying in the Loop, there is always a Malnati’s or Giordano’s within close proximity and neither has ever disappointed.
We’ve also done Chicago 360 in the past which was cool so this time we are going to try the museum and observation deck at the Willis Tower. I’ll keep you posted on which is the better experience afterwards.
Chicago has a lot to offer as I mentioned. Even though I’ve been there several times, feel free to share any “insider” info on other stuff to do if you happen to know or are an Chicago native.
